SOLD Lilac Sprigged Georgian "Ale" Jug
£35.00 inc. tax
A small "Ale" jug with crisply moulded lavender sprigs.
This "seven" shaped handle was used by a few different makers, Hicks and Meigh, Newhall and H & R Daniel being some of the contenders, but I have not been able to attribute a maker with any degree of certainty.
This jug has an unusual feature in having the lilac ground applied to the neck.
A wonderful little jug probably made between 1815 and 1830.

15.8 cm to top of handle
